Join Nanette as she discusses the philosophy and yoga anatomy (koshas) behind this meditative practice, and then guides you on an internal journey using the techniques of iRest® Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra (“yogic sleep”) is a state of consciousness. Somewhat like lucid dreaming, it lies between sleep and wakefulness, a place where ancient yogi’s believed one could realize one’s true self.
iRest® Yoga Nidra is a modern-day adaptation of this ancient practice of healing, relaxation, and well-being. It is a form of mind-body training, with clinically demonstrable effects, which promotes deep healing, health, resiliency, and wel being.
This meditation practice involves coming into a supported restorative posture and discovering the space between wakefulness and sleep where deep healing and restoration can occur.
It is an ideal mindfulness intervention for re-shaping neural pathways critical to fostering emotional self-regulation, ethical decision-making, resiliency,enhancement of cognitive and emotional skills, development of empathy and well-being, as well as improving overall physical and mental health.
